The lighthouse that sits atop San Francisco's Fort Point just under the south anchorage of the Golden Gate Bridge located in San Francisco, California. The lighthouse is no longer in use. It was deactivated at the completion of the Golden Gate Bridge. The fort offers spectacular views of the San Francisco Bay Area, the Golden Gate Bridge, San Francisco, Angel Island, Alcatraz Island, and on a clear day views looking out on the Pacific Ocean. The fort is a great place to visit, take a peek into the past and see a little bit of history, and enjoy a truly icon view of te Golden Gate Bridge on a weekend afternoon.
