This image of Half Dome, in Yosemite National Park, was taken in the early morning hours after a thunderous rain storm the night before. The pine trees and ground were quite wet which created a misty fog hanging close to the valley floor as the sun was rising. From this angle of view, the mist and fog lit up with the colors of the rainbow as the sun was peaking over the mountains to the left of Half Dome. It looks as if one is standing inside the rainbow looking at one of Yosemite's many treasures/monuments, a beautiful pot of gold found at the rainbow's end.

Thanks Dick, I appreciate your kind words. Yosemite National Park is such a magnificent place and Half Dome such an iconic image from almost any angle. The rainbow effect of the sun filtering through the morning fog was an unexpected but beautiful surprise. I feel lucky to have been at the right place at the right time.
