In the wintertime, all along the riverbank of the Merced River in Yosemite National Park one can find these beautiful bell-shaped icicles that form as the freezing cold water gently laps the pine needles, twigs, branches, grass, or whatever may be dangling just above the waterline. These "Icicle Bells" struck me as being a lovely visual gift of nature that begged to be captured in a photographic image.
