This watercolor painting of a Christmas/Holiday tree was painted on black watercolor paper to attempt to create the feeling of the time of year where, whatever holiday(s) you do or don't celebrate, it's the season of lights, lighting up the darkness, the shorter days and longer nights. The effect is to see the tree and all its red and gold ornaments, its strings of popcorn and cranberries round and round and round the tree and its small golden-yellow lights sprinkled throughout the branches to light up the tree in the darkness. And, who could forget the brightly lit star sitting atop the tree shining brilliantly into the darkness of night. Happy Holidays to all and may you always find joyful light in the darkness!
