The aluminum sheet is offset from the wall by a 3/4" thick wooden frame which is attached to the back.   The wooden frame includes a hanging wire for easy mounting on your wall (see photo on the left).

Yosemite's Half Dome as seen from the "meadow" of the valley floor during one of California's winter drought months. You can see the light snow cap on the top of Half Dome, yet the valley appears bone dry.
